Notes from the first firing of spring

The first glaze firing after the winter break always feels like starting the studio again from scratch. The kiln had other opinions: the lid stuck at the hinge and cone 5 went over before cone 6 bent.

The celadon we have chased since autumn finally came out of the reduction-cheating experiment the way the test tile promised — a quiet green with the pooling in the throwing rings.
